WD-40 Co. Introduces No-Rust Shield

SAN DIEGO — Feb. 3, 2009 — WD-40 Company, a trusted leader in equipment maintenance products, introduces its 3-IN-ONE® No-Rust Shield™ to help hunters and fishermen protect their sports equipment from rust and corrosion.

The latest addition to the 3-IN-ONE family of products, the 3-IN-ONE No-Rust Shield can be used to protect metals in enclosed spaces, including gun cases, tackle boxes, truck bed boxes and boat and RV compartments, for up to 90 days. Its unique Timestrip™ alerts consumers when it is time to replace the unit.

"When sports enthusiasts invest in equipment, they want it to last," said Tim Lesmeister, vice president of marketing for WD-40 Company. "The 3-IN-ONE No-Rust Shield offers a convenient solution to protect sports gear against rust and corrosion, and helps ensure it stays in working condition."

Developed at the WD-40 Research and Development Center, the 3-IN-ONE No-Rust Shield offers state-of-the-art technology coupled with the respected 3-IN-ONE name, all from a company with more than 50 years of experience in developing high-quality products at a great value. Metal-seeking vapor phase corrosion inhibitors (VpCI) from the product migrate through an enclosed space to form an invisible layer that seals metals against air and moisture that can cause rust and corrosion. The unit protects exposed metal in enclosed spaces without harmful effect on electrical, mechanical or chemical properties.
